This drawing is a copy, possibly by Alexandre Colin, after Bazin’s no. 2153. (See Germain Bazin, Théodore Géricault: Critical Study, Documents and Catalogue Raisonné. Vol. 7. Social and Political Perspectives: The English Sojourn and the Hours of Suffering, La Bibliothèque des Arts, 1997, p. 77, no. 2153). This sketch, produced in the streets of London whilst Géricault was exhibiting *The Raft of the Medusa* there, is held at the Morgan Library, New York, no. 2022.332 (16.2 x 22.2 cm).
