Infantry sabre known as a ‘briquet’, model AN XI, manufactured by ‘PRADIER’.
Cast brass hilt with 28 flutes and a single-branch guard. Flat, slightly curved blade with a flat back, featuring a mottled grey patina and the maker’s mark “PRADIER”. Black leather scabbard with two brass fittings; the chape features a trigger guard.
