Jacques Henri GUYOT was born in 1946, at a time marked by numerous upheavals and questions about the established order of things. A well-known and acclaimed artist for his commitment to Cubism and colour, his paintings bear the influence of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, within a form of Cubism that he has made his own. He uses colour in the manner of Robert Delaunay, but his compositions are characterised by a treatment of space and objects reminiscent of Juan Gris or Fernand Léger.
