In gilded wood, decorated with an allegory celebrating the glory of Francis II; the white enamelled dial is set within a frame surmounted by a reclining sphinx and a medallion portrait of Francis II accompanied by an abbreviated Latin inscription: Franciscus II / D[ei] G[ratia] R[omanorum] I[mperator] S[emper] A[ugustus] / Ger[maniae] Hie [rosolymae]. Figure of Athena, armed, on the side.
