Transition-period cylindrical desk
in rosewood, amaranth, sycamore and stained pear wood veneers. Inlaid decoration featuring openwork cubes set within composite Greek-style mouldings. It opens via a flap revealing four drawers, a compartment and a pull-out tray, all lined with leather and decorated with fine gilded ironwork, forming a top surface, as well as three drawers around the base. Curved legs. Bronze fittings including lock plates, pull handles and feet. The locks are engraved with oak leaves.
