The bronze smiths Bouhon Frères specialised in the production of fireplace accessories, often drawing inspiration from 18th- or early 19th-century designs, and took part in the World Exhibitions of 1878 and 1900. The stock of their workshop was dispersed at two auctions, in October and November 1920.
