Lionel FLOCH (1895–1972) The village of Pont-Croix Oil on canvas Signed lower left 60.5 x 73 cm Originally from Quimper in Brittany, Lionel Floch was a Breton artist born in 1895 and who died in 1972. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he settled in Pont-l’Abbé, where he developed a body of work deeply rooted in Breton culture and landscapes. Floch is renowned for his scenes of harbours, fishermen, Breton religious processions and seascapes.
