JAPAN, 19th century Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858) and Utagawa Hiroshige II (1826–1869) Set of three prints: - ‘View of the Coast at Kubota in Awa Province’ (Bôshû Kubota no kaigan) from the series ‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’ (Fuji sanjûrokkei) - “Shops selling the famous Arimatsu shibori-dyed fabrics in Narumi”, from the series “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo” (Meisho Edo hyakkei) - “The Enclosure of Mount Narita in Shimōsa Province” (Shimōsa Narita-san keidai) from the series “One Hundred Famous Views of the Various Provinces” (Shokoku meisho hyakkei) Circa 1855–1858–1859 Nishiki-e, ink and colours on paper, vertical oban format. (Signs of wear and mounting holes in the margins) Provenance: Formerly in the Edmond Labour collection, acquired during his trip to Japan in 1901.
