DICTIONARIUM POLYGRAPHICUM: Or, The Whole Body of Arts Regularly Digested, attributed chiefly to John Barrow, volumes I and II of the English work. This work is an encyclopaedic manual covering drawing, painting, engraving, dyeing, metallurgy, varnishes and 18th-century workshop secrets. 1735 In-12 The handwritten ex-libris in pen mentions the date 1793. A typographed label on the endpaper bears the name of Mr SNETZLER. Full contemporary calfskin with raised bands and gilt title labels on the spine. The cover is detached from one of the volumes; the leather shows significant wear (dulled caps and corners, scuffing), but the work is complete with its fold-out copperplate engravings (anatomical plates/drawings).
