Four fans, Europe, 18th–19th centuries - The first: a leather panel, mounted in the English style, painted in gouache with a central romantic scene framed by floral still lifes. The reverse side is painted with a young woman alone. The frame is made of re-drilled, engraved and silver-plated bone. (Some damage.) Height: 27 cm - The second fan has a paper panel engraved with a scene of a family reunion, set against a background reminiscent of stencil work. The blank reverse bears a handwritten note reading ‘Pauline Commeau?’. Wooden frame. Height: 28 cm - The third: a sheet of silk and tulle painted with bouquets of flowers. Bone frame. (Damage.)
