21. 21R A Qajar underglaze-painted pottery and brass-mounted ewer Persia, late 19th Century the pottery body decorated in polychrome with floral decoration and birds, with applied brass spout, foot, handle and lid, the hinged domed lid engraved with inscription-filled cartouches and bands of inscription, surmounted by a section from a Bohemian glass stopper 49 cm. high Inscriptions: upper band to lid, undeciphered; cartouches to lid, endowment inscription to the shrine of Imam Husayn with warnings for those who alienate the endowment; lower band to lid, verses invoking Muhammad, 'Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husayn.
