Remarkable yellow dwarf Rosewood Marquetry inlays Very good condition Year: 1850 Dimensions: 395x310x50 Each card within the compartments consists of a precious wood marquetry design faithfully imitating the double-headed cards with oblique separation. The yellow dwarf is a marquetry copy of the one by Ulysse & Cie from 1841. The lid that closes the playing board is decorated with the same yellow dwarf surrounded by a double maple border. This luxurious set was probably produced by the ‘Nain Bleu’ shop, founded in 1836 by Jacques Ed. Chauvière at 27 Boulevard des Capucines. This set is extremely rare, and the quality of the marquetry is remarkable.
