PROBABLY GARNET AND PEARL NECKLACE, France, ca. 1800/1810 Yellow gold, 28g. Historic necklace, alternatingly set with gold elements and red gemstones, probably garnets, partly table-cut and partly cabochon-cut, measuring ca. 5.0 × 4.2 mm to 8.9 × 7.2 mm. The gemstones in closed back setting and foiled at the back, each surrounded by a wreath of seed pearls, 1 missing. Necklace with French gold assay mark. L ca. 38 cm. Ensuite 2 brooches of slightly different design, not originally belonging to the necklace, probably parts of another but contemporaneous jewel later adapted as brooches. L ca. 6 cm. With case.
