Description
MONTBLANC Writers Edition “Homage to Arthur Conan Doyle” Limited Edition 1902 Fountain pen in a limited edition of 1,902 pieces, no. 0745/1902. Barrel and cap in fine brown lacquer, adorned with a tartan pattern and a laser-engraved historical map of London — a reference to the detective’s coat and the city that was the setting for his investigations. Clip inspired by Sherlock Holmes’ magnifying glass; on the back of the clip, a silhouette of a dog in photoluminescent pigments evokes “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. Cap band engraved with Arthur Conan Doyle’s signature and the logo of the detective’s first case, “A Study in Scarlet”. Cone in precious wood and brown lacquer, a reference to the detective’s iconic pipe. The top of the cap is crowned with the Montblanc emblem in precious wood. Handcrafted nib in rhodium-plated 18K yellow gold, size M, engraved with a portrait of Arthur Conan Doyle and a magnifying glass. Weight: 63.4 g. Presented with original box and documents (international warranty certificate) and a leather booklet including a postcard — a replica of an original sent by Arthur Conan Doyle from Dartmoor to his son Adrian. Creator of Sherlock Holmes and one of the most widely read crime novelists in history, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) shaped the myth of the fictional detective forever. This edition, numbered to reflect the year of publication of the character’s first canonical adventures, is one of the most narratively rich tributes in the Writers Edition series.
