Particularly active in the 1970s for Van Cleef & Arpels, Atelier JANCA also produced jewellery for Fred and Piaget. Its creations are distinguished by the use of decorative stones in a variety of colours, such as chrysoprase, tiger-eye quartz, coral, onyx and turquoise, and by its work on the textures of metals. Animal subjects play an important role in his creations. The emblematic 'Butterflies' in the Van Cleef & Arpels Boutique - a model similar to ours - were made by the Atelier Janca.
