(Minor knocks and scratches from use). Since the 1950s, the world of the zodiac has occupied a special place in the jewellery creations of Van Cleef & Arpels. Several series of medallion pendants have been produced by the House, all in textured yellow gold or combining coloured decorative stones. Our three medals belong to the first models, a combination of Van Cleef & Arpels' passion for constellations and the expertise of the Atelier Georges Lenfant. Inspired by antique pieces, this series is distinguished by its irregular contours and relief decoration on both sides. They were produced in different diameters. In the 2020s, Van Cleef & Arpels wanted to perpetuate its translation and pay tribute to its historic collections. The "Zodiac" collection was relaunched in yellow and white gold, along with a second collection combining astrological signs and decorative stones, distinguished by the use of textured gold and backgrounds of coloured hard stones that change according to the sign represented (lapis lazuli, aventurine, sodalite, jasper, malachite, etc.).
