Description
Dandy" doll. German manufacture circa 1840/60. The head bust is in composition covered with a thin layer of wax showing a beautiful patina with cracks of use consistent with age, glass eyes, molded hair, the body is skin with wooden forearms. He is wearing a very nice dandy costume consisting of a midnight blue frock coat with buttons, a floral waistcoat with buttons and bridge trousers, the shoes are unstitched in places. This piece was exhibited at the 1935 Strasbourg International Doll Exhibition. Height 51cm. Used condition.
