PAIR OF DECANTERS
Made of glass with silver trim.
One features a medallion on one side bearing the inscription: ‘affectionate memento from the Le Patriarche Avraham Society’. On the medallion of the second carafe is the date, in Hebrew and French, of 19 October 1879.

The Mutual Aid and Charitable Society of the Israelites of Paris, founded in 1832 by members of Master Sauphar’s prayer hall, later took the name Société du Patriarche Abraham. In 1872, the community had a prayer hall at 1 Rue de la Boule-Rouge. It subsequently merged with the Society for Talmudic Studies to form the synagogue on Rue Cadet.
