[PRAYERS] Ritual of Daily Prayers for the Use of the Israelites, translated from the Hebrew by J. Anspach. Metz, Hadamard, 1820. First edition. Bilingual Hebrew–French work. In-8, later half-leather binding. (Two pages joined together and reinforced with adhesive). First and rare edition of this translation. This is the first translation dedicated to the Ashkenazi rite (following Venture’s translation, which was specifically adapted to the Portuguese rite). Whilst the 1827 edition is more common, the first edition of 1820 is far rarer.
