A cone-shaped headdress made of red velvet, covered with gold thread embroidery on a cardboard base, complete with the strap by which it was fastened. Algeria, 19th century. Height: 15 cm (Signs of wear and some damage.) This headdress was worn as a distinctive symbol by Jewish women in Algeria. General bibliography: - Les Juifs d’Algérie. Images et textes.
