At the end of the 19th century, "Alp. Camille jeune" was the leader in the saddlery industry, a position it maintained until the beginning of the 20th century. From 1892, it dominated the French market and exported to Europe, South and Central America, the West Indies, the Orient and the Far East. Its success in military saddlery enabled it to supply more than 40,000 complete harnesses to the French government and to export to many foreign countries. The company's products were designed to be comfortable, strong and easy to load, and were suitable for a wide range of uses, including transporting supplies, wounded soldiers, weapons and traction. The company's worldwide reputation was further enhanced by a richly coloured album of 120 plates, distributed throughout the world, featuring military equipment, luxury and working harnesses, as well as a wide range of saddles and saddlery products.
