FOURNIVAL (R. de). *La vieille*, or *Ovid’s Last Loves*. A 14th-century French poem. Paris, Aubry, 1861. In-12, 11 x 19 cm, publisher’s cardboard binding in brick-red percaline, LIV + 296 pp.
First edition, printed in a run of only 350 copies, of this poem in which the author explains how Ovid caught birds using birdlime, snares and other devices; and how he hunted foxes, deer, wild boar, squirrels, etc.
A fine copy on laid paper. The cardboard binding is slightly sun-faded and rubbed, with a blackened spine.
