In-8, publisher’s cardboard binding in fawn percaline, 170 pp. First edition. A fine volume presenting the game animals of the Sudan. With chapters written by Karamojo Bell and Major R. S. Audas. Illustrated with a frontispiece, 25 plates (11 of which are in colour by W. H. Riddell), black-and-white sketches and a folded map. Never published in French. Very good condition. Ex-libris E. C. Tabler. - MILLAIS (J. G.). Far away up the Nile. London, Longmans, Green and Co, 1924. Quarto, publisher’s red percaline cloth binding, 254 pp. First edition of this account of a hunting expedition to southern Sudan, amongst the Dinka and the Nuer. Illustrated with 50 plates of animals, drawn in black by the author or his son. Includes 2 black-and-white photographs of trophies and a map. Never published in French. Very good condition. Bookplate. - MOSSE (A. H. E.). *My Somali Book. A Record of Two Shooting Trips*. London, Sampson Low, Marston, 1913. In-8, publisher’s brown percaline cloth binding, 314 pp. First edition. A captain in the Indian Army, the author recounts two hunting expeditions he undertook in 1907 in British Somalia, specifically in the Haud region. There he hunted lions, leopards and numerous species of antelope. Illustrated with photographs by the author and attractive black-and-white drawings. Unpublished in French. Good condition. A split spine. Rogoff bookplate. Provenance: The hunting library of the late Don Javier Lopez de Ceballos
