Oblong 8vo, publisher’s percaline binding, title in gold lettering on the front cover, 100 pp. A second, relatively rare edition of this satirical and witty work on life’s mishaps: stagecoach accidents, street sweepers splashing passers-by, falls from horses, carriages stuck in mud, etc. Six chapters deal with hunting with hounds and shooting. Illustrated with 24 lovely engraved plates by Victor Adam, printed on a coloured ground and lightly highlighted in white. Woodcut on the title page. A good copy, with slight foxing.
