- HUBBACK (T. R.). To Far Western Alaska for Big Game: An Account of Two Journeys to Alaska in Search of Adventure. London, Rowland Ward; New York, Scribners, 1929. In-8, publisher’s green percaline cloth binding, gilt decoration on the front cover, 232 pp.
First edition of one of the finest works on the subject. Accounts of hunting Dall’s sheep, moose, grizzly bears, etc., in Alaska (Rainy Pass, Kenai). Illustrated with 67 black-and-white photographs and 2 maps. Index. Publisher’s catalogue at the end. With a third loose-leaf colour map of Alaska, folded several times. Never published in French.

The first hunting book by Th. Roosevelt, the future US President, who was one of the greatest hunters of his time. In it, he recounts his hunting memories from around his ranch in Dakota. Illustrated with black-and-white drawings. Never published in French.
Good condition. Spine sun-faded. Caps rubbed. Small tear at the top joint. Ex-libris of Lord Berkeley Paget.

A fine copy on laid paper. Ex-libris of the Scottish philanthropist James Cowan Smith (1843–1919) depicting his hunting dog.
