In-12, paperback, 40 pp. A rare first edition in this format, a witty account of hunting in the Landes region in the early 20th century: woodcock, wood pigeon, snipe, lark, wolf, and hare hunting—both with shot and with hounds (briquet). A lieutenant in the wolf-hunting corps and vice-president of the departmental federation, Henri de Lacaze was one of the region’s leading hunters and gamekeepers. He is pictured on the frontispiece with his friend Franck d’Artenset de Laffarge. Illustrated with a photograph on the frontispiece and woodcuts. A fine copy.
