In-4, contemporary ivory-coloured vellum, ribbed spine, 438 pp. Second edition of the most important treatise on hunting of the 17th century. One chapter is devoted to deer hunting in Piedmont, drawing on the author’s experience as a squire to the Duchess of Savoy. A dictionary of hunting and hound-hunting terms is included at the end, with separate pagination. Illustrated with a beautiful engraved frontispiece. Incomplete: the dictionary of hunting and hound-hunting terms, which should appear at the end, is missing. The first and last leaves have been roughly mended and have some missing sections.
