Type A MkIII radio case. The last of the Series 1 sets, it was also the first single-block version, designed in early 1944 by SOE, and was the most compact and lightest. The accessory box, marked Spares, contains a bayonet socket, a small screwdriver, a Morse code device marked S 230IR on the bakelite, a small chip on the plunger, a Marconi cardboard box, a quartz crystal plate dated 1945 and a plug. Earphones with their Electric London multitone plug, cloth covered wire with its removable headband. Factory painted set with brass plate marked Type A MkIII, series N 34132. Functional buttons, electrical socket present. Radio in its regulation felt-lined case. Radio case type A MkIII. Last model of the Series 1 sets and the first monobloc version designed in early 1944 by the SOE, the most compact and lightest. The accessory box marked Spares contains a bayonet thief socket, a small screwdriver, a Morse key with bakelite marking S 230IR with a small chip on the plunger, plug present, a small Marconi cardboard box, a quartz crystal plate dated 1945 and a plug. Headphones with Multitone Electric London plug, fabricsheathed lead and removable headband. Set in factory paint with brass plate marked Type A MkIII serial N 34132. Knobs functional, power plug present. Radio in its regulation case lined with felt.
