American standard M1 sub-helmet made by Firestone, modified by the French Army with the addition of riveted khaki cotton V-shaped straps. The chin strap is TAP 51, made of khaki cotton. The under-helmet has a leather headband and neckband. The factory paint has been overpainted with a second brush coat, but a front airborne insignia can be seen on the front. The heavy helmet is a standard American model, M1, with snap-fastening at the front, fixed lugs and original OD3 sewn-in canvas chinstraps. Inside is a US laundry number P1190. Lot number 43B. US M1 liner made by Firestone modified by the French Army with added V straps khaki cotton riveted. Chinstrap TAP 51 type made of khaki cotton. Liner retains its leather band and neckband.
