Description
General Vanuxem's uniform. Comprising his divisional general's kepi made of khaki cloth, three original mounted metal stars, false chinstrap specific to generals held in place by two buttons with the generals' arms, leather visor with plastic snap fastener, black satin lining, leather headband bearing the markings of the hatmaker P.Vauclair 28 rue Royale in Paris. His 1946 size 48 jacket in khaki cloth, the size label bears his initials. The jacket is fastened with four buttons bearing the arms of the generals, as are the breast pockets and shoulder loops of the divisional general. Having served in the Muong battalions during his three tours of duty in Indochina, he wears the unit's arm lozenge as an honour. The jacket bears his Algerian law and order insignia, his Drago Olivier Metra parachute brevet number 75821, his silver Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, and six lines of decorations. His trousers were made of strong khaki wool, with three wide belt loops, the General's initials on one of the unbleached cotton pocket linings, and were in very good condition despite two small cuts. His officer's shirt in beige cotton cloth bearing the Gordon label and his initials PV.
