Description
French made dagger, copied from the British SAS dagger. Brass checkered handle, iron hilt, blade in its original length of 18.2cm. Le Commando type scabbard, entirely made of leather, original spring still attached, brass tip pierced to receive the leather lace. The leather tab to hold the dagger was removed at the time. Marked on the reverse side Le commando Modèle Déposé Breveté SGDG The soldier embossed the front of the scabbard with his initials AM and the words La Quille 612B. Frenchmade dagger copied from the British SAS pattern. Brass checkered grip steel guard blade full original length 18.2 cm. Scabbard of Le Commando type entirely of leather with intact spring brass tip pierced for thong. Leather retaining strap removed period. Reverse marked Le Commando Modèle Déposé Breveté SGDG. The soldier engraved his initials "AM" and the phrase "La Quille 612B" on the front.
