Description
Infantry officer’s sabre, Consulate period. Brass and ebony mountings. Pommel with skirt and melon-shaped sides. Column-shaped hilt arch, half-ear-shaped crossguard and curved, button-shaped quillon. Slightly curved blade with hollow edges and a fuller (cleaned). Leather scabbard with two brass fittings (leather authenticity not guaranteed). Item has been cleaned. Total length: 81.5 cm. France, circa 1800.
