Description
A pair of matching Louis XV-style chests of drawers attributed to François Linke (1855–1946).
Chests of drawers inlaid with flowers, foliage and reeds against a radiating background within panels highlighted by curly rosewood. Of a dynamic shape, they open to reveal two drawers without a crossbar and rest on curved legs. Richly ornamented with finely chiselled and gilded bronze fittings featuring sinuous frames with scrollwork and foliage, floral and foliage cartouches, and acanthus-leaf finials and feet.
Marble top.
Damage to the sides: cracks on one, peeling on the other. Minor imperfections.
