A CLOCK AND ITS FIREPLACE ORNAMENTS; the portico clock in white marble and gilded bronze, with a white enamelled dial featuring Roman numerals for the hours and quarter-hours, a railway-track minute track, and decorated with enamelled roses, surmounted by a vase of flowers supporting a garland of flowers. The four columns, topped with vases of flowers, rest on a carved plinth adorned with interlaced floral motifs in gilded bronze, which in turn rests on four feet. The pendulum is adorned with a radiating mascaron depicting Apollo. The mechanical movement is key-wound. The dial and movement are signed ‘PLANCHON’ in Paris. The movement and balance wheel bear the number 885. The trimmings are also in white marble and gilded bronze, decorated with garlands and foliage (one element is missing from one trimming).
