Claude Le Blanc was a French statesman during the reign of Louis XV. He was a councillor at the Parliament of Metz and then an intendant in several provinces of the kingdom, before becoming Secretary of State for War in 1718 and again in 1726. He played an important role in the reorganisation of the French army after the Regency and helped to strengthen the kingdom's military administration. A close friend of Cardinal Dubois and the Duc de Bourbon, he remains one of the great administrative figures of the early 18th century.
