Statue of a drummer who performed the "Kimeki" initiation rites. It is a representation of a male figure at the end, his feet merge with the circular base and his hands rest on a membrane drum that he clasps between his thighs.
Although not as old, the iconography of this statue is very similar to that featured on the cover of Daniel Biebuyck's book "The Arts of Zaire".
