Description
JBL PARAGON D44000. Integral three-way stereo audio system equipped with JBL loudspeakers. JBL-LE15A for bass, JBL-375 for mid-range frequencies, combined with JBL-5038 and JBL-075 horns for high frequencies. LX5 filters for frequency cut-off. The cabinet is made of white veneer. The LE-15A woofer suspensions need changing, the unit has been modified by adding glass wool panels, the original rear feet are missing and need replacing, and castors have been added to the current feet. A fine project for a much-needed refurbishment. (Some wear, missing lacquer, alterations, sold as is, all components such as speakers or crossovers are not guaranteed to be original). Height: 89 cm - Width: 263.5 cm - Depth: 75 cm Designed by Richard Ranger, a consultant for JBL, this system had to meet the constraints of spacialisation and positioning of musicians during sound transcription. Ranger was keen to ensure coherent sound and that the projected sound remained identifiable in space, even when listeners were moving around. With the help of JBL and industrial designer Arnold Wolf, the idea of building a piece of furniture with precise acoustic characteristics became a reality. The interior of the cabinet and the curved front had to offer the most realistic stereo image. The position of the mid-range drivers in the curved front panel creates the impression of a wide, spacious stereo image. JBL marketed the Paragon from 1957 to 1983, and nearly a thousand units were built by a team totally dedicated to its construction. This prestigious set cost a small fortune when it was released. Given the nature of the components making up the equipment, Etude L'Huillier cannot be held responsible for any malfunction occurring after the auction. An exhibition is also planned to check the condition of the items. Please also note that electronic equipment will be entrusted to the Hôtel Drouot warehouse after the sale and that storage charges will apply.
