A flat Louis XV-period desk, inlaid on all sides with veneer featuring a lattice and diamond pattern; the top is scalloped and edged with a moulding, and features three drawers running along the base; the top is covered in restored fawn-coloured leather, with gilded bronze ornamentation. Stamped ‘P. MIGEON’ (for Pierre MIGEON) and bearing the guild mark (JME). 77.5 x 147 x 76 cm MIGEON: a famous family of Parisian cabinetmakers whose father, son and grandson all bore the same first name.
