A Louis XVI-period ‘crowing cock’ clock, in chiselled and gilded bronze; the case rests on a fluted plinth topped by a crowing cock, flanked by a reclining putto seated on books and sheets of paper. The oval-shaped entablature is edged with twisted laurel garlands, with rosette-adorned connecting blocks, and a white marble plinth. Movement signed ‘Le Loutre’ in Paris.
