SÈVRES. Royal Porcelain Manufactory.
One-litre goblet and saucer in soft porcelain with polychrome decoration: on the cup, a young girl seated under a tree with her feet in the water; on the saucer, a basket of flowers against a landscape background, all within medallions outlined in a broad gold fillet on a beautiful blue background. The rims are adorned with foliage, garlands of flowers and serrated gold borders.
Marked: interlaced ‘LL’, date letter ‘DD’ for 1781, painters’ marks of Claude-Gilles Buteux the Younger and Louis-Gabriel Chulot, gilder’s mark of Michel-Barnabé Chauvaux the Elder. Sunken marks.
