A Louis XVI-period wall sconce, in chiselled and gilded bronze, crowned with an urn and bordered by drapery and pine cones, the sides bordered with cascading garlands and Greek-style consoles adorned with ram’s heads and a pomegranate at the base. The white enamel dial features Roman and Arabic numerals and is signed ‘Lefaucheur’, clockmaker to the King

Alexandre Lefaucheur was recognised as a master clockmaker in Paris in 1729.
