The corners are rounded. The crossbar is openwork. The legs are tapered and fluted. Blue silk upholstery with a floral design H. 94 cm Marked ‘G. Jacob’ on one of the seats, referring to Georges Jacob, who was admitted as a master craftsman on 4 September 1765; he was the most famous and also the most prolific of all 18th-century cabinetmakers specialising in seating.
