June’ in the bottom left-hand corner Labelled ‘Famars’ in the bottom right-hand corner Undergrowth at Famars, watercolour on pencil, signed and dated, by H.-J. Harpignies 13.97 x 9.64 in. 35.5 x 24.5 cm Provenance: Private European collection Born in Valenciennes, Henri Harpignies moved to Famars with his parents, where his father had established a large, state-of-the-art sugar refinery before 1850.
