3 vols. in-4, pale calfskin, ribbed spine decorated with gilt motifs, red title and volume number labels (contemporary binding).
An illustrated edition featuring 18 separate copperplate engravings by Bernard Picart.
The edition usually contains 17 portraits.
Bindings slightly worn (rubbed at the joints) and slightly stained. A small, faint water stain at the top of the first volume, a few scattered foxing spots.
