Imaginary journeys, dreams, visions, and kabbalistic novels. 39 vols. in-8, root-stained sheepskin, gilt decorative borders on the covers, plain spine decorated with gilt motifs, red title labels and green volume numbers (contemporary binding). First edition of this compilation of works of imaginative literature. It comprises mainly French authors and 18th-century novels. The set is illustrated with 71 copperplate engravings and a folded plate. A very complete set of the three additional volumes published by Cuchet, in uniform binding. Bindings slightly rubbed, a few chips to the caps, a few incipient cracks at the joints. Some slight foxing. Provenance: Chevalier de Villebrême (ex-libris).
