First edition, bearing the address of the Chaix printing house in Paris (the copies consulted were all printed in Lille by L. Danel). Preface by Léo Claretie. Autograph dedication signed by Henri de Rothschild: ‘To my dear Jeanne, from her most affectionate brother’. Numerous annotations and passages underlined in pencil, probably by Jeanne de Rothschild. Binding slightly rubbed (particularly the raised bands and corners).
