JAPAN, Kutani kilns – MEIJI period (1868–1912) Polychrome and gold-glazed porcelain bowl with reserved-glaze depictions of thatched cottages and landscapes, children beneath pine trees, autumn flowers and peonies against a background of leafy foliage; the exterior is decorated with autumn flowers, peonies, cherry blossoms and daffodils. On the reverse, the Kutani mark. (Craze) Diameter 18 cm Provenance: - Galerie Jacques Mansiet, 6 November 1990. - Formerly part of a Parisian aristocratic collection, passed down through inheritance.
