Description
VILI Reliquary fetish 20th century. Diameter: 20 cm. Anthropoid skull, resin, finely woven basketwork. Almost circular in shape, this fetish features the skull of a bonobo chimpanzee (an ancestral form) with a resin facial mould. Three braided wicker cords secure it to the spherical rear structure, which is constructed from strips of wicker. Provenance: Pierre Redouin Collection.
