KUYU Deity 20th century. Height: 79 cm. An IR spectroscopy dating certificate (G. Matthaes patent) from the Museo d’Arte e Scienza, Milan, no. 6AF-3696, indicates the date as 1937 ± 10 years. Heavy, hard wood, with a brownish patina and white kaolin. This sculpture features numerous decorative motifs across all parts of the body (circles, lozenges, crescent shapes or openwork lace patterns, etc.). Provenance: Pierre Redouin Collection.
