PUNU Single-piece mask. 20th century. Height: 28 cm. An IR spectroscopy dating certificate (G. Matthaes patent) from the Museo d’Arte e Scienza, Milan, no. 6AF-3730, indicates the date as 1950 ± 8 years. Light wood, coated with white kaolin across the entire face except for the lips and the scarifications on the forehead and temples, which are red. The headdress has a black patina. The inside of the mask reveals traces of carving with an adze. Provenance: Pierre Redouin Collection.
